Voyage to Antarctica

November 17th - 2nd December 2027

We are delighted to announce that in 2027, and in partnership with WildPhoto Travel and Wildlife & Wilderness, we will be chartering the modern 68 berth expedition ship Ocean Nova.

This will be an exclusive Antarctic cruise designed by wildlife photographers, for wildlife photographers. That means running an itinerary that has been designed around the needs of your photography, maximising our time spent on the peninsula. So no filler days spent killing time, no visiting when the snow is minimal and no landings when the great light has been and gone!

At the moment we are giving you prior notice of this trip so that you can register your interest in joining us.

So if you are interested then please use the register interest button below to contact us so that you can be added to the list and first to know when this trip is fully announced!

The MV Ocean Nova is a modern and very comfortable expedition vessel capable of carrying a 78 passengers. However for this departure we have chosen to limit the number of passengers to 68; this will make it less crowded on the landings and it will also allow us to bring more photo guides with us. Another advantage to limiting the numbers in this way is that we can offer more single cabins on the trips. The MV MV Ocean Nova is one of the very few genuinely smaller ships remaining in Antarctica and South Georgia - a huge advantage for photography groups..

Built in Denmark in 1992 to sail the ice-choked waters of Greenland, the Ocean Nova’s ice-strengthened hull is ideally suited for expedition travel in Antarctica. All cabins feature an outside window and private facilities, again not something that every Antarctic vessel can claim. In addition to a glass-enclosed observation lounge and presentation room, there is a spacious dining room where you will be served delicious meals.

The ship has 8 Zodiac boats, with almost flat access (a very unique feature) that are well suited for excursions and wildlife watching, which is very important for photography and efficient landings. The ship was fully refurbished in 2006 and since then has benefitted from annual upgrades and improvements.

The M/V Ocean Nova offers three categories of accommodation: dedicated Single Cabins, Doubles and Twin Cabins. All cabins feature a picture window, a writing desk with a chair, a wardrobe, an individually controlled heating system, and a private bathroom with a shower.
